CONFINED SPACES
Confined spaces are extremely dangerous and pose significant risks to health and safety. In Australia, including under Victorian OHS Regulations, confined spaces are strictly regulated due to the potential for serious injury or death.
A confined space is an enclosed or partially enclosed area not designed for continuous human occupancy, characterized by limited entry and exit, and posing potential hazards like oxygen deficiency, toxic substances, or engulfment risks. These spaces, while not intended for regular work, are often found in industrial settings, such as tanks, pipes, and pits.
